In 2012, J.R. Bradley, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arts Council said, “Wouldn’t it be great to have an arts camp for the young people of Adams County?” With J. R.’s vision, the J.R. Bradley Summer Art Camp was born. J.R. passed away in 2023 at the age of 82, but his artistic legacy lives on. This art camp is offered the third full week of July and is free to area children ages 9-16. Taught by area artists and teachers, the camp offers a variety of genres including drawing, painting, tie-dye, fiber art, sculpting, musical theater, and creative writing.
In September of 2025 ACAC formed their Artist Guild. Guild members are members of the ACAC and are under the non-profit status of the ACAC. They follow the ACAC mission: To promote the enlightenment and development of individual and organizational art endeavors. Adams County Artist Guild’s goals are to expand artist networking through such activities as creating an artist guild registry/directory and hosting an art fair. They meet monthly and have a quarterly event which showcases their work.
Maggie Hoff was an outstanding music educator, church organist, and director of the Adams County Ecumenical Choir and the historic Liberty Cornet Band. She taught and encouraged many students in the county to pursue their musical talents. Established in 2021, this ACAC fund awards two $500 scholarships to graduating Adams County seniors who are pursuing higher education in the arts. This scholarship helps keep Maggie’s legacy alive!
